Do remember when you were a kid and you were getting a toy for Christmas or something that you had been waiting a long time for? That is how I felt this morning as I said goodbye to my family and home, set my eyes towards the mountains of North Carolina, and drove.
But back to the Christmas thing real quick...do you ever find that the best presents you have ever gotten have been a surprise? People often say that this is because it shows the love and knowledge that the giver has of you, but I would like to pose the idea that it is because you don't expect it. You see...you can't be disappointed when you don't have expectations...

Yes, yes...I made it here safe and sound and was comforted by seeing Carl and Julie again. I met my roommate Sabrina, too. She is really nice and I know that we are going to have a good times in the next eight months. Carl, Julie, and Sabrina went to dinner at one of Carl and Julie's friend's house which was kind of nice because I got to unpack and get acquainted with the apartment. It is a cute little three bedroom apartment that is way nicer that any of the other farms that I visited. I was happy to find that I have decent cell phone
reception, so I am not entirely cut-off from civilization. That said the closest real grocery store is about 45 minutes away soooo...I'm still pretty darn out here! Mountain Harvest Organics is nestled in a mini valley that is absolutely gorgeous. I am very excited to make tea and go look at the stars in a second.
My friends, I am about to spend my first night on a farm. It sounds so ridiculous coming out of my mouth. The fact that I, Noah Benjamin Tassie, am, after all of this wait, on a farm - and a perfect farm at that!
peace

Keep those posts coming, Noah! I'm enjoying them. Your agent (aka my cousin Linda) tuned me into the blog and each post has made me stop and think.
